Ambedkar College Research Journal (ACRJ) - An Annual Journal of Ambedkar College, Fatikroy
ACRJ is Annual Research Journal published by Ambedkar College, Fatikroy. It has ISSN NO: 657-2395-2350
From the Desk of the Editor in-Chief & Principal i/c

Publication of a Research Journal has a vital role in promotion of quality in Higher Education. Enhancing the quality of Higher Education is one of the core commitments of the Ambedkar College, Fatikroy. Thus, we did launch this journal in the year 2015, which was exciting and the response was encouraging. We are happy that we could overcome the challenging task of maintaining the continuity of the publication and bring out the second issue of the Ambedkar College Research Journal for scholars and general public.

This issue contains eleven articles, of which seven are in English, three are in Bengali and one in Sanskrit, covering topics from different disciplines, viz. Social science, Philosophy, Religion, Bengali literature and Sanskrit literature.

We are extremely thankful to all researchers and scholars who have contributed their scholarly article for this issue, without which it would not have been possible on our part to materialize the publication of this journal. We do hereby convey our gratitude to the members of the Advisory Board for their valuable suggestions and advice. We are also thankful to the faculty members of Ambedkar College for their all-round help and support in bringing out the second issue of this journal.

Hope, like the first issue this issue will also receive a good response from scholars as well as reading public and will contribute to the field of research and development.

ACRJ Policies

Review Policy:

All submissions to Ambedkar College Research Journal (ACRJ) undergo a rigorous review process to maintain a high-quality publication. All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents and are reviewed by a single-blind peer review process which may take a minimum of 04 to 06 weeks from the date of submission. Submitted manuscripts are refereed by 1/2 experts (reviewers) as suggested by the editorial board. Manuscripts with negative feedback from any of the reviewers are declined. Manuscripts with positive feedback and that too from a minimum of two reviewers are accepted for publication. All publication decisions are made by the journal's Editor on the basis of the referees' reports (reviewer's report). In addition, Editor will have the option of seeking additional reviews when needed.

The policy of Anti Plagiarism:

The system of formal publications in science, Humanities, Social Science, and Commerce in journals is based on originality and quality of information, being the only criteria for publication. However, there have been tendencies to misuse the system and vitiate the process of publications for personal benefit. One of the ills, afflicting publications, is plagiarism. Attempts at plagiarism may range from verbatim copying of extensive material of other authors, misappropriating results/data of others with minor changes in language/presentation without giving credit to the original source, and publishing essentially the same information more than once.

As an institution of Higher Education publishing journals in various disciplines in India, ACRJ strongly reiterates its policy of discouraging plagiarism of all kinds. All efforts are made to detect and frustrate attempts at plagiarism through editorial screening and rigorous peer review in respect of communications received forpublication in the ACRJ. Cooperation of the academician and researchers is sought in our efforts to frustrate all attempts at plagiarism.

It is the responsibility of the author to furnish a plagiarism certificate of his/her paper during the submission/communication of the research paper. Following the fair conduct of research and prevention of misconduct, as per UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2017, similarities above 10% will not be accepted for publication. In case of any dispute related to the issue of plagiarism related to his/her paper at any point in time, even after the publication of a paper, the author will be solely responsible for the same.

In addition to the above, the following steps would be taken:

(a) After consulting the respective Editorial Board Members, authors guilty of plagiarism will be debarred from publishing their papers in ACRJ for a minimum period of one year.

(b) Heads of the Departments/Institutes of the offending authors will be intimated of such incidences of plagiarism.

(c) Such incidents of plagiarism will be publicized through ACRJ in consultation with the respective Editorial Board Members.

(d) Keeping in view the policy of plagiarism, and avoiding piracy of intellectual property, the author needs to follow the citation policy:

i. When 10 words are taken together from some established core work, the citation becomes essential.

ii. Also, when the copied content reaches 40 words in accumulation, the fragment needs to be kept under an inverted comma ("_") in italic.

iii. Authors are necessarily required to cite a reference in case of any content adopted from anywhere other than internet open sites. It is also that, even in the case of open site internet source the copied contents if found more than 30 percent in aggregate during plagiarism detection, the work shall not be considered for further proceedings.
